A Lousy Weekend

I'm always looking forward to the weekend because it is the only day that I get to get out of the house farther than the backyard. Last Saturday was very different 'coz my body was feeling so lousy to begin with and second, the weather was not what the weather men have predicted. All we did last Saturday was visit hubby's grandmother, recovering from a stroke at the hospital. She's doing great by the way and it just happened that her therapist was a Filipino so we chatted a bit. Actually, hubby and him chatted a bit, hehe! My MIL was there with us as well. I really admire the way she takes care of people. She's a great person and I'm lucky to have a MIL like her.

So anyway, we were going to go somewhere else after the visit although it was kinda gloomy but hubby's phone keeps ringing. He had to take care of some stuff at work so we had to go home. Later that night, we chatted with my family (in the Philippines) on yahoo. The grandparents were just so excited to chat with their grandkids more than me now *pout*. They were amazed at how much the boys have grown and can't wait to meet them in person. They love to hear AJ chat eventhough most of the time, they don't have a clue on what he's talking about like when he's talking about his Thomas & friends train collection.

Sunday was still a gloomy day and it still is right now. Bear went to work early that day till 1 or 2pm so, I took the boys outside to play. Got the water hose and let the water run on the slide while the boys take turns sliding. It was like a little splashtown of our own, hehe! Didn't stay too long though because the water was cold and Aiden started to get chills. So, that was our weekend. I hope to have a better one next time.

Before I leave, I wanna share with you all this video of AJ. His latest craze is singing the song about this dog product commercial. Isn't that funny? We remember the song real well but nobody in this family remembers the name of the product. I know it's an anti-flea product. I will update this as soon as the commercial comes back on but for now, enjoy the video. Please excuse my boy for not wearing pants. He complains that it's too hot, so he only wears his panties, lol!

T'was a Beautiful Weekend!

I think this blog is becoming a "weekend review" blog now. As if you haven't noticed it before, lol! Anyway, Saturday was such a beautiful day! High of 71F and low in the 40's. It feels cold when you're under a shade but other than that it was a very comfortable spring day. We started the day by driving all the way to Galveston and walk through the strands. Here's a photo of the strands so you can picture what I'm talking about.

It was the perfect day to walk, didn't do any shopping though. I was like a tourist snapping pictures here and there, lol! We had lunch at Fudruckers and then we went to the San Jacinto Battleground and just enjoyed nature and of course took more pictures as well. There are a lot of families out there having a picnic. Maybe we'll do that next time when the weather gets warmer. Having a picnic is one of the things we love to do as a family and the boys just love to run around and have fun. Here are some photos we took at the San Jacinto Battleground. My new camera is pretty impressive but I hate the fact that it shows everything clearly. If you look closer, I'm pretty sure you can see the pores on my skin, lol! Hubby took a series of photos of Aiden and I but this is the only one where Aiden was looking at the camera and worst, it's also the one where I look the ugliest! Arrrggh! Anyway, never mind how I look. I just wanted to show you photos taken using my new toy. I still love it though. Maybe next time, I should fix my hair and put some powder and lipgloss on before facing that huge camera again, lol!

Here's the first photo I took using the new camera. It was taken on Friday. If you noticed, AJ is wearing the blue shirt again. It's his favorite! I told him to get a shirt so he can go outside and that's what he got. What can I say, the kid loves blue! I love this photo a lot. It's not a very good one since I haven't explored the camera that much when I took this but why do I love it so much? You see, every time I bring my boys outside, AJ always finds time picking those little weed flowers on the ground and give them to me. I don't know where he got the idea but I thought it's the sweetest thing on Earth! *sniff* And for that, this photo will always be special to me.

After a relaxing afternoon spent at the San Jacinto Battleground, we went to the other side of town and got the boys a new bunk bed and a few other furniture! They will be delivered some time today and I tell ya, AJ is soooo excited about it. I'll take pictures and share them next time. To end this entry, I'd like to share the latest LO I've made. It's very simple but I love it! Ok, that's it...have a great week everyone and thanks for the comments on my previous entry!

It's my birthday...Not!

Is my title for today catchy? LOL! Anyway, we had such a great weekend. We all woke up together around 8am and had breakfast. Like any other weekends, we usually try to do something as a family. We didn't exactly know where we're going last Saturday but we knew we are going somewhere, hehe! It's kinda hard to think of a place to go since we've already been to almost every place we can think of and if you know me, I don't get so interested about it after the 10th time or maybe more. So, what we did was get everybody ready and get in the van and start thinking of a place to go, lol! Sometimes, it's fun but there are also times when it's aggravating.

After all the discussions, we decided to go to the salon so Bear can get a haircut and I can get my eyebrows done. FYI, this is my first time. I was totally scared and there were moments when I thought of backing out but I'm a big girl and I did it! LOL! I've always thought that it would hurt and sure enough, I was right! I've asked so many ladies before I decided to go for it and all of them told me, it didn't hurt. How come I felt the pain? Ugh! I felt like I'll go blind after she pulled my brows near my eyes. Good thing we were in a close place because it would have been more embarrassing if people can hear me scream. The lady who was doing my brows was laughing the whole time, I'm not kidding! Yeah, you're probably thinking I'm such an over-acting person but I couldn't care less; it hurts! Right after we left the place, my brows were burning in pain and they were red for a few minutes and then I totally have forgotten the whole incident even happened. We had lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant.

Right after lunch, Bear decided to get me the camera that I've always wanted. He was planning it for my birthday but got it earlier which is so much better, hehe! Yey! I felt like it was my birthday already. I really wanted to get the Canon Rebel XTi but the store only carries the Canon Rebel XT which has 8mp but is actually cheaper ($699 before taxes) but I wasn't ready to settle for that because I really want the 10mp but the only DSLR that carries that is the SONY brand. We had to talk about it and discuss about everything and finally decided that we're getting the Sony. It was pretty hard. I was like a child at the store who keeps saying, I want the Canon because all my friends have it! LOL! After all that, I don't have regrets at all. I love my new toy and so grateful to my dearest husband for getting me one. Honestly, I was going to share in the expenses. I'm earning good at PPP and I really thought I'll have enough to share half of the expense if we waited just before my birthday but knowing Bear, he'd never let me do that especially if he says it's my birthday present. He's really sweet, thanks a lot Bear!

So, after getting all that I felt like I don't need to celebrate my birthday anymore, hehe! We decided to go to the mall and let AJ play in the kid's playhouse. They also have a little place for kids like Aiden's age. The boys just had a blast. Of course we didn't left the place without getting them new toys as well and I did a little more shopping for myself also like the camera wasn't enough. I got a few new blouses because Spring is here! Still didn't get Easter outfits for the boys though. We need to do that pretty soon. Lastly, got a layout to share here. A lot of you has probably seen it in the galleries already since I posted it last week. This is for the Scraplift-a-Bebot challenge at the PHPDigiscrappers forum. It's a lift of Aggie's I Knew LO. So sorry for the long post again. I tried to keep it short but it seemed impossible. Have a great day and enjoy the rest of the week!

By the way, I was busy talking about so many things that I forgot to update you all about Aiden. The kid had a stomach virus for a few days and was vomiting and having diarrhea as well. We brought him to the pediatrician for a check up and the doctor said he's fine. He's back to normal now and eating good as well. He was so happy to drink his milk again, hehe! Ok, that's it. Thanks for reading and thank you for all the comments on my previous entry!

Another weekend passed by...

The past weekend was really beautiful; kinda cool but still lovely outside. Just need to bundle up to enjoy the days. Aiden was running a little fever all weekend long. Thank God, he doesn't have it now. I really think it was the teething. He's got so many teeth now that there seemed to be no space for more, lol! Gave him Motrin twice and that was the end of the fever although he was still cranky. Last night, he woke me up again. Poor thing was standing on his bed crying. I felt so bad for him. Got him out and put some baby Anbesol on his gums and rock him to sleep. I thought that was it but he woke me up around 11pm again. I was really tired so I just took him out of his crib and let him sleep beside me on our bed. Hubby didn't like that but I was too tired to keep getting up to rock him to sleep. He's really becoming more of a Mama's boy. Well, it's nothing new though. When he was a little baby, he's been showing signs of being a Mama's boy. In fact, he said "mama" first before "dada" which is really opposite to AJ. AJ said "dada" first and he seemed to wanna be with daddy more than mommy. A friend told me that the kid is usually closer to the person they first learned to call. In my case, it seemed true but I think it's just one of those old wives' tales.

Back to the weekend story, we didn't really get to do a lot on Saturday because I slept again! LOL! Didn't waste the whole day though. We went to Home Depot and bought stuffs for the house and the yard. We took off the carpet in our living room, so now we have wood floors in that area which looks better anyway. We also bought some new curtains for the living room and a few cleaning stuffs and then went out to eat for dinner. When we got home, hubby did most of the work but I helped too *wink*.

Sunday was colder but we made it to the park; let AJ ride his bike all over the place and Aiden loved looking at the ducks on the water. We stayed there for about 2 hours and then we took a train ride before leaving. After that, we visited my MIL and had lunch at a Mexican restaurant. She gave AJ his birthday presents and Aiden got some too just because he's a baby (that's according to her). The kids always have fun with her. Came home around 5pm and watch tv for the rest of the night. Here's a photo I'd like to share with you all. I just love this one. It's kind of dramatic? LOL! I don't know how to describe it but I love it! Also, I got a video of AJ riding his bike. I think a video will speak better than a series of photos. So, there you have it folks. I hope I didn't make you all bored by reading this long entry. I thought since I only blog here once a week, this isn't too bad, hehe! Have a great day and enjoy the rest of the week!
