Poor kid was complaining that his birthday was a rainy day. So many fun outdoor stuffs you can't do when it rains so, I understand how he felt. Other than that, he had a blast. We went out to eat at his fave restaurant. Grandy (my MIL) was there to celebrate with us too so it really made his day extra special.
I had another attempt on home made cakes. AJ requested for a train cake weeks before his birthday so I gladly obliged. I had improved on the cake this time but the icing went bad on me. I think I mixed in the vanilla extract before the heavy whipping cream actually turned fluffy. Argh! I definitely need a lot more practice on this. I think I will try again on my own birthday, lol! Anyway, AJ loved it and didn't really care about the messy icing. So, I guess that's all that matters. I just wish I could have made it better. I also improvised on some of the accessories since I couldn't find the suggested candies such as snowcaps. Oh well, enough rambling...here are some of my faves from yesterday's event.
The birthday boy...

The home made birthday train cake. Everything is edible on this cake *wink*.
Enjoying his birthday lunch...I thought I'd include Aerell's pic since he looked so funny with that tiny piece of potato on his nose, lol!
It's not always that I get to have photos like this where all 3 boys are in it. This is definitely precious and currently my wallpaper *wink*. We were singing happy birthday here as AJ gets ready to blow his candle.
He got a bunch of Thomas and friends stuffs again but this Playskool helmet is clearly his fave!
