Hot!

is the right word for this past weekend. I'm not a big fan of summer. I dislike anything that makes me tanner, lol! Anyway, we didn't do anything special this past weekend. We visited my MIL and Grandma (her stepmom) and let the kids play in her backyard again. We did enjoy an ice cream together, which is really cool.

I'm so boring when it's summer time. I prefer to stay inside when the weather is hot. Hubby wanted to go swimming but I didn't think we'd enjoy it, well maybe a few minutes or so but I didn't think it would be worth it. I'm not sure what's coming up this weekend but for now, I'll do anything indoors only.

So, have you checked out Nancy's blog yet? It has a brand new look that is so pretty and a new feature as well. Look!

Alissa has already started today. She's got a fabulous challenge going on with great prizes too! So, be sure to check that out and join the fun. I can assure you that you'll definitely have a great time.

This is totally random. You know for weeks now, I have been wondering what the heck happened to the canned goods in my pantry? I had to admit that I thought someone broke into the house and took them. It's just weird coz I really don't remember using them and when I go to the store, I usually buy more than what we needed. Well this morning, I never thought that this mystery would get solved. Would you have guessed that my sweet, innocent and adorable little Aiden threw them in the trash? I caught him playing with a couple of canned goods earlier today. I know he's been doing this for quite some time now but I never caught him throwing them in the trash can before. When I saw him throw 2 cans in the trash, it just hit me. That was why my canned goods were disappearing. For a while there, I actually thought I got some mind problems for thinking that my goods were missing. Kids I tell ya.

Oh, I totally forgot to take a photo of hubby's present. I remembered it this morning just when he headed out the door. If you're interested to know what I got him, click here. That's exactly the thing I ordered and from that site as well. I'll try not to forget to take a photo this week.

No LO this time. I was busy blogging on the other blog that I just completely forgot about it. I'm also trying to avoid posting photos too much since I had some issues weeks ago. As much as I want to show off my kids to the world, I want some privacy too and it's hard when some people just don't get that.

Did you know that today is the 3rd anniversary of my old blog? I totally forgot about it, again! Good thing is the day isn't over yet so I can still do something special. Off to go make an update. Thank you so much for reading my blog especially for the kind words/comments you left. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Bear's Birthday Weekend

Before I'd get into the details of our weekend, I just wanna mention a few things first. My Aiden was running a fever for 2 days last week but thank God, he's all well now. He had his doctor's appointment today to get shots for his 18-month check up. As of today, Aiden weighs 30lbs. 11oz. and he is 33 3/4in.(almost 34in.) tall. 30lbs is definitely heavy when you think about it but he's actually looking slimmer this time (the pediatrician noticed it too). It's probably because he's off of the bottle now but he's healthy and doing just fine. Now off to the recap...

Yesterday, June 3rd is my dearest hubby's birthday but we didn't have a party or anything like that. We just had a very simple celebration. Since, it's Bear's birthday weekend, he decided that we were going to the annual Sand Sculpture Festival at the East Beach in Galveston. Now, you have to understand that we're at least more than 100 miles from the nearest beach so this isn't something that we always do. It was so crowded and hot! Almost everyone there were wearing their bathing suits since it was held at the beach but I didn't wanna get wet, lol! So, we weren't in our swim suits at all. It was really a lot of fun looking at the people create these beautiful masterpieces...

So, are you ready for a lot of pics? Sorry, you don't have a choice now, lol! Actually these are just a few of the stuffs they had over there that I got tired of taking all their pics. Look at this "Mater" sand sculpture. I sure thought it looks cool, hehe! They even put a little toy Mater car on top of it. Very artistic indeed!

Now, don't ask me what that is. It looks like a penguin, or maybe a fish or something, lol! I guess we're free to imagine what that thing is. I forgot to look at their poster. They have posters that tell the viewers what they're making.

This next sculpture has a "Save the trees" slogan and I'm sure you can see that clearly here. Ah, these people are just sooo creative!

This one is actually one of my favorites. It's called "Death by Chocolate"...chocolate cake that is! Hubby and I were laughing when we saw this. LOL!

This one is called "Liberty" and you can obviously see that as you can spot a statue of liberty sculpture down there. You can also see some people signing their names. I think it's a way of voting. You just sign your name on their guestbook if you like their sculptures and they also give you some cute stuffs in exchange for it. Instead of looking at the sculptures and vote for the ones we like, we actually look at the stuffs they're giving away first before signing our names. LOL! I know, I know we cheated but hey, they're all winners anyway.

This one is called something Circus, lol! I can't remember the whole theme but you can see a circus sculpture down there, right?

And this one is another of my favorites. I just love the sand castle thingy but actually the castle is not the hightlight here. This one is called the Gargoogle and there's supposed to be a monster-looking thingy laying down there and behind him is that castle but since they weren't done yet, that's all I can show you.

I can't remember the name of this next one either. It looks like a bunch of big fishes maybe whales or dolphins? Again, we're free to imagine, hehe! That my friends end my presentation of the annual Sand Sculpture held at the East Beach in Galveston last Saturday. Now, I don't know who won because we left around 2:30pm. It was just way too hot already and the kids were already sunburned. I did put sunblock on them but still Aiden was as red as a lobster.

Before I move on, I wanna do the tag from Nancy first. She tagged me to list 5 things I love and tag 5 people.
1. my 3 men
2. my other families and friends
3. my cameras
4. my computers
5. myself (copied it from Nancy, lol!)
Now, I'm tagging JenR, Dauphine, Juliet, Julai and Kitty. Have fun ladies!

And so, on Sunday, AJ and I baked this very lemony cake for Bear. That's his tradition every year so we don't bother to buy him a cake at all. He prefers we make it ourselves anyway. We used a lemon supreme cake mix and a lemon supreme icing as well but we also added a lemon filling that's why I call it very lemony cake, lol! I am not good at decorating cakes though. I'm afraid the photo doesn't give it justice as it doesn't look as good as it tastes. It's really yummy and we all loved it. My present for hubby isn't here yet. It should be here by Wednesday or Thursday though. He doesn't know what it is but I'm sure he'd love it *wink*. I'll take a photo and post it here next time. I can't say what it is because he reads my blog, lol! Love ya Bear!

While I was busy icing this cake, my boys were busy sticking their fingers in it too, lol! I thought that was really funny but too cute to watch as well, lol!

I was able to scrap a bit and here's one using Nancy's new clusters. These clusters are just wonderful and I love using them. Here are my boys on mother's day.
